Harry had sold his share of Woodcote Park and was
planning to start a security business. In “Trouble
In The Fields”, he found an office near the Trent and applied for a
bank loan. Ken had sold the lease on the office near the Castle and was
running his investigation business from temporary premises in a caravan.
He was living in a yacht in a canal basin next to Harry’s office. Harry
and Ken founded Crawford-Boon Security (CBS), with Harry looking after
the burglar alarm and security guard side of the business, and Ken being
responsible for the detective agency. In “Tales From
The River Bank”, CBS moved into their offices and Ken replaced the
yacht (which sank) with a more luxurious narrowboat. Harry was living in
Upper Ridley, a village out in the country, and Rocky was lodging with
him.

The offices of CBS were located in the fictional Trent
Wharf industrial estate. In reality, this was a canal basin off the
River Trent just east of Lady Bay Bridge: grid reference
